premise and rules [20 Jan 2010|02:51pm] Welcome to thebigcity! We aren't going to make this anymore complicated than it needs to be, this is simply a game set in New York. The goal of this community is to provide you an active, welcoming, and long lasting home. We are not going to give you the same speech you always hear over and over, that we aren't going to die. We are just going to say that we believe that this game has the potential to really thrive and as long as you are active and having fun then we will also be around and active as your mods. You’re characters are free to live and work anywhere they please, though the majority of the game will center on Manhattan. Think of the city as their play ground, it’s a diverse place, get creative! The rules as usual are quite simple and something that by now we hope everyone has a firm grasp on them, but for good measure. Do not cross IC with OOC, if we hear about it, we will come to you and you will be given one warning, if it happens again you will be removed. Serious storylines must be approved by the mods, because we'd like to keep things from getting to out of control, IE: we would like to prevent a baby boom. Your PB must be age appropriate and there is a three character limit. If you choose to have three characters at least one must be a male. To apply you must have a brief blurb about your character! Your aim sn should have your character's name incorporated in some form or another. Tommy loves gum is appropriate, Tommyx53 is not. Your journal must have your character's name and may not have any added words, numbers, or underscores. Anyway, we hope that you have a lot of fun. Happy RP'ing! The Taken List post comment

Challenges will be accepted and the writer with the best examples will be chosen, please bear in mind we will only accept TWO challenges per pb. If someone places a hold for you (typically the "for a friend" placeholder), you must comment with a journal in a twelve hour window or the hold will be removed. If you are accepted you will have three days to intro and one week to post a first entry or you will be removed. Remember journals should not contain any underscores, added words, or x’s. AIM screen names should include your character’s name (first or last, your choice.) the application name first and last! played by easy peasy! (state whether held or not) age and dob again it's easy. occupation aim and journal unlinked. aim is required, but threading is permitted. blurb link us! examples do not pm!
